His Name Was King
His name was Dr. King
Dr. Martin Luther King
He stood for peace
He stood for justice
and equality for humankind:
for black brown white
yellow and red
He believeed the Charlayne Hunters
and James Merediths
deserved an education as well
as the Carnegies and Rockefellers
His name was Dr. King
Dr. Martin Luther King
He shunned an eye for an eye
He believed every being
should live up to his potential
and work in a field
he's qualified for
He marched peacefully
for justice and equality
He died for peace,
human and civil rights
His name was King
Dr. Martin Luther King
A king among mortals
