I Think I Am Someone

I THINK I AM SOMEONE I think I am someone
The way I glide my hips
when I walk
The way I slide my tongue
when I talk
I am someone

I think I am someone
The way I think before I leap
The way I cruise when I sleep
I am someone

I think I am someone
The way I attack a project
Time is no object
I am someone

I think I am someone
The way I help a friend
I analyze to no end
I am someone

I think I am someone
The way I empathize, moralize
mobilize, philosophize
I am someone

I think I am someoje special
My ancestors were African kings and queens
doctors, lawyers, teachers,
abolitionists and preachers,
inventors and writers of the dream
I think, therefore I know,
I am someone
