Salisbury Park
Stark winter branches
stab the air
with knobby fingers
grasping alabaster gems.
In spring I saunter with friends,
tossing pebbles into the rippling river
which snakes past old elms,
pregnant with bluebirds.
Lazy summer days
we spread soft blankets
over nature's fuzzy lime carpet,
slurp Popsicles, squash ants.
Autumn school days
fiery trees sway rhythmically
as we zig zag
through crunchy leaves.
